Young local talents of Clavinova Nights
Bob Shields is one of Canada’s most respected guitarists. He has played with some of the country’s finest musicians including, Kelly Jefferson, Pat Collins, Mike Malone, William Carn, etc. He teaches guitar and composition at Mohawk College, Mac Master University, and in the past, York University. He is currently in his last year of a Ph.D focused on creativity.
Reg Schwager (George Shearing, Diana Krall): “Bob Shields is one of the most gifted guitarists I know. Now he’s gotten together with his talented and like-minded cohorts Clark Johnston and Adam Fielding and made a beautiful CD. Finally!”
Pat Collins (Moe Koffman, Ed Bickert, Oscar Peterson): “A Road Forgotten is a great example of contemporary jazz. Beautiful melodies, interaction between the players, and musical playing make it an album that asks you to listen to the entire thing. Beautiful compositions throughout, that give each of the players opportunities to shine individually, as well as a trio. Highly recommended!”
